Thyroid Concerns

THYROID CONCERNS - The thyroid gland is unique. Dr. Paul Eck the founder of Nutritional Balancing called it "the spark plugs" of the body. There are many reason why these spark plugs could have problems (shown in the link below), but one reason comes from eating fruit and the widespread use of superphosphate fertilizers. Thyroid imbalances are one of the most common conditions in the Western world today. A complete nutritional balancing program will usually correct common thyroid problems.....

The thyroid is a small butterfly gland below your Adam's apple which can be found in the middle of the lower neck and it produces hormone that impact each and every cell, organ and tissue in the body. It regulates heart rate, body temperature, metabolism and production of protein. Thyroid issues may occur because of 1. toxicity of heavy metals and radiation 2. Perhaps deficiencies of iodine and selenium. 3. A gluten and A1 casein

allergy or food intolerances 4. hormone imbalance from too many carbs or stress......

If part of a thyroid gland is still in place it may still continue to produce some thyroid hormones but if the gland is not there, you are not producing any thyroid hormones. One may become either hypo-thyroid or hyper-thyroid. Whatever label has been put on, one needs to get to the source of the imbalance. Even replacement hormones may address the symptom but they do nothing to address the cause or the reason why the original problem exists/existed in the first place.

Those with hypothroidism can experience fatigue and brain fog which will make them reach for caffeine and sugar which easily will destabilize blood sugar. Here are a few tips: Why not incorporate food and lifestyle changes? Drink from glass or BPA free plastic bottles. BE gluten and A1 Casein free. Check your iodine levels and if low use kelp.  A heavy metal detox is recommended. Selenium is important and can be found in onions, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, beef, mushrooms. Have all silver filling removed. Cut your carbs (sugars/gluten/grains) and replace with healthy fats (olive oil/nutsnut butters/kefir yogurt to balance hormones. Eat no starchy vegetables.  Primary sources of iodine is sea vegetables (kelp) and seafood (sardines are chosen as they are a small fish and have less toxicity). A secondary source of iodine is eggs, asparagus, lima beans, mushrooms, spinach, sesame seeds, summer squash, shiss chard and garlic. Vitamin D will help contribute to your hormone balance. Even cruciferous vegetables containing natural goitrogens (cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, cauliflower) when cooked they are fine for consumption. Take NO SOY, processed or packaged foods, NO SUGARS, including fruit sugar and fruit juices as they are NOT helpful. NO tap water, instead drink spring/glacier water. Fluoride filters tend to damage the drinking water and are not recommended.

Omega-3s are needed and are found in fish, grassfed animal product, flaxseeds and walnuts, these are critical for thyroid function. The thyroid depends on a good balance of healthy gut bacteria so it's best to supplement with probiotics which are friendly intestinal bacteria. Since the thyroid and adrenal glands work together one should also address adrenal fatigue. As mentioned previously stay hydrated with water (spring or glacial) and limit exposure to toxic waters such as baths, showers. Practice relaxation exercises along with a physical exercise of one sort or another.  Reduce your stress level with a meditation technique. Sauna therapy with a near infrared lamp relaxes while reducing stress and helps to remove toxic metals. Foot reflexology, coffee enemas and a push down exercise is recommended by Dr Wilson. Follow a Nutritional Balacing program based on your Hair Analysis.
